The Filipino Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, Inc. (FILSCAP) is a non-stock, non-profit association of composers, lyric-writers and music publishers established in 1965 to administer the public performance, mechanical reproduction and synchronization rights granted by law to creators and owners of original musical works.

FILSCAP represents the rights of both local and foreign composers, lyric-writers and music publishers. As such, FILSCAP owns or controls in the Philippines an extensive worldwide repertoire of copyrighted local and foreign musical works.

FILSCAP’s role is that of a unified body of music copyright owners to which application for a permission/license may be made by a person or organization intending to perform, authorize the performance of, mechanically reproduce and/or synchronize copyrighted music in any manner or by any method, for profit or otherwise.

Currently, FILSCAP has over 800 local members, including such famous names in the Filipino songwriting industry as Constancio C. De Guzman, Simplicio Suarez, Lucrecia Kasilag, Levi Celerio, Tito Arevalo, Josefino Cenizal, Restie Umali, George Canseco, Lucio San Pedro, Ernani Cuenco, Ryan Cayabyab, Willy Cruz, Jose Mari Chan, Jim Paredes, Danny Javier, Rey Valera, Senator Tito Sotto, Vehnee Saturno and Professor Felipe P. De Leon.

FILSCAP is a member of the Paris-based International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC), which is the umbrella organization of all composer societies around the world. As CISAC member, FILSCAP is recognized worldwide as the sole and official music copyright society in the Philippines, and is subject to the strict regulations and statues of CISAC.
